MCM Secures Final Land Parcel for Kasan Waste-to-Energy Plant

The Manesar Municipal Corporation (MCM) has begun securing the final 10 acres of land in Kasan village to finalize the 20-acre site for its proposed waste-to-energy (WTE) plant. According to MCM Executive Engineer Nijesh Kumar, a tender has been floated to fence the newly acquired parcel, with completion expected in 15 to 20 days.

Developed under a public-private partnership (PPP) model, the project aligns with frameworks from the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs and a Haryana state committee tasked with standardizing regional WTE initiatives. While the facility aims to convert municipal solid waste into energy, environmental groups have raised concerns regarding air pollution and compliance with the 2016 Solid Waste Management Rules.
